Plot
Dhayalan is a thief who has just been released from prison. He justifies his stealing habit that he enters only the house that speaks to him. Now, he enters Velayudham’s house, which spoke to him. Velayudham is trapped in his house, as he is an Alzheimer’s patient. He assures Dhaya that he will pay a hefty sum if he drops him at his friend’s house in Thiruvannamalai. Dhaya accepts his offer. However, Dhaya knows that Velayudham has a lump sum of money in his bank account, and he can get the entire amount in one swipe. Dhaya act as a gentleman to Velayudham, who also has a secret buried in him. What’s that? Will Dhaya loot Velayudham and leave him in the middle of the road? The rest of the story follows these two.
Star Performance
Fahadh is charming as usual. How does this guy handle all roles with ease?! His chemistry with Vadivelu is interesting. On the other hand, Vadivelu has once again impressed us with his non-comedy performance, like his previous outing with Fahadh, Maamannan. It is really exciting to see Vadivelu trying a different role out of his comfort zone, comedy. Kovai Sarala is good in her role, despite her limited screen presence. Vivek Prasanna and Sithara make their presence felt.
Analysis
The director takes much time to set up the plot and characters. For the people who want to watch fast-paced movies, this may be a negative point. However, after the basic plot is established, the road movie starts travelling at a decent pace, without testing the audience’s patience. Minute details are handled well, despite some drawbacks in the plot. After a certain point, we can predict what may happen, which is among the significant minuses. The director has given us enough twists in the screenplay, especially the interval twist. Except for the lead actors and a few supporting stars like Vivek Prasanna and Sithara, the rest of the stars didn’t get enough space to perform. Although there are several ups and downs, one of the significant minuses is the dialogue in the climax. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music is a big strength. Yuvan got a track from his father’s compositions, and Fahadh and Vadivelu grooved to it, which is entertaining. The visuals are decent. The editing is okay; even though it can’t help the pace at the start.

Verdict
It is an unexpected genre, and the performances from Fahadh and Vadivelu are impressive. Maareesan might have got a slow setup, but it impresses with the making and performances!
